New Website. Today marks our official launch into the webosphere. Thanks to our cracker jack team (see below), we have a site that expresses who we are as a company, as individuals and as experts. We hope you like it as much as we do. 🙂
New Services. We’ll use the term “new” loosely because we’ve been offering these for over a year, but we know The Invisible Hostess is synonymous with Day-of Coordination. We still offer and love DOC. We also offer Partial Planning and take on a select number of Full Planning & Design in addition to a la carte services. Betcha didn’t realize that, huh?
New Office Digs. In the fall of 2015 the office gods blessed us for a third time. Our “magical unicorn” office is shared with Katie Parra Photography. We’re in the middle of the action on Capitol Hill and this space is the perfect balance of city grit and urban chic (our picture above is in front of the building). We hope to have you over for drinks and nosh sometime.
Retirement of a Team Member. Many of you know and love Afton Vander Pol. She’s been with TIH since the start and has played a huge role in our success. Afton has decided to apply her mad skills in new ways, most notably through nonprofit volunteer work. This paragraph doesn’t even scratch the surface of her importance to our history and who TIH is today. We love you Afton and are cheering you on in your new adventure!
Addition of a Team Member. Kristine Parra came to TIH in 2014 as a chemical engineer who wanted to play with pretty things. She soon became the world’s most overqualified intern. Kristine fit into our team so well with her dry sense of humor, type A organization skills, and excellent design eye. We finally put a ring on it in 2016 and Kristine is our first Designer and an official Coordinator. We’re proud to call her “ours.”
End of an Era: Conclusion of Party Help & Bartending. You guys, this is a big one. This is an announcement that while wasn’t secret, was also not fully shared to the world until now. After a decade of offering party help and bartending services, we’ve closed that division of the business to focus on wedding coordination and to allow mental space for new projects and future plans. The cool news is this: an alumna of ours has launched her own staff and bartending business. We fully support and endorse her and wish the business the best of luck! www.PartyOnThe.Rocks
Passion Project: The Wedding Mentor. So where is all this regained mental energy being spent? Sheena began working on an education concept in the fall of 2015, which she named The Wedding Mentor. It’s in the final stages of development (you’ll see another launch email in a few short weeks) and she will provide career development advice for the wedding-minded. She’s looking to help job seekers navigate the first steps of breaking into the wedding business and gaining the experience they need. Stay tuned for more news on this.
Our team can’t express how happy we are to be focusing all of our energy on what we love and excel at. Here’s to 2017!
