Their “now we know” lessons:
Use your vendors and all their wedding knowledge. Before our pre-wedding meeting with Mary we had so many questions about linens, and flow, and details. After the meeting we felt totally confident that our wedding was going to come together nicely. It was freeing to just trust the knowledge of the pros.
Use your florist for more than flowers. Tobey Nelson Designs had a great design sense that helped us pull together a lot more than just flowers. We learned that florists like having an input in tabletop decor, particularly the linens.
Once you open the dance floor, don’t stop! Don’t have everyone on the dance floor, then stop for cake cutting. Then open it again, just to close it for something else. Have the first dances be the last “event” for the night. Then just let everyone party on the dance floor.
Have a late night snack and bring out some greasy yummy food. This is not the time for quinoa bites. I’m talking sliders, pizza, french fries, tater tots, etc. Every guest we’ve seen since the big day has told us how much the late night snack was a game changer; it brought the dead back to life!
