ABOUT THE COUPLE:
Nothing says wedding planning like taking multiple architecture exams and a cross-city move, but if you could add it to your plate, Sarah and Justin were going to—all while planning an incredible wedding in Leavenworth. Sarah presented me with a design-brief at our first meeting; I had a gut feeling she was going to be VERY organized.
A CHALLENGE I FACED:
Besides sinking armpit deep in snow at our site visit (hilarity ensued) the one thing that was remotely stressful was the literal hike, in July heat, that guests had to take up to the ceremony site. We made it work and had guests head up the knoll and were able to secure golf carts to help out some of the older guests—as well as guests who really wanted to stay in their heels. It was a bit of a challenge getting everyone up there but once they saw the view, it was worth it.
MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT THE WEDDING:
I loved how we utilized every part of the resort. Guests had flown in from all parts of the country and we had a buy-out of the resort. It was just so fun to walk around over those three days and see only familiar faces over the course of the weekend. And for the actual wedding day, we used three different areas of the resort for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing—and each space was utilized at their most optimal time of day. It was just gorgeous.
